White Bordeaux Wines
Description:
White Bordeaux wines are usually produced with Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Other varieties may include Muscadelle, Colombard and Ugni Blanc; but Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are the most common.
Flavor Profile:
1. Light and Fruity- This makes up the majority of White Bordeaux wines. They are generally cheaper and have notes of grapefruit, lime, gooseberry, grass, honey, honeysuckle and jasmine.
2. Rich and creamy- These Bordeaux wines tend to be more expensive and come from Pessac-Leognan. They tend to have flavors of baked apple, lemon curd, crème brûlée, ginger, orange peel and chamomile.
