About the Winery:
In 1959, José Ortigüela and Bernardo Beristain founded the Campo Viejo Winery in La Rioja Spain. The first bottle was produced in 1961 and by the 1970’s Campo Viejo had become one of the most consumed wines in Spain.
Campo Viejo is currently owned by Pernod Ricard winemakers and their new state of the art winery was built in 2001. The company continues to celebrate the traditional grapes of Spain!
Tobin’s Review 3 out of 5
Campo Viejo’s Tempranillo 2018 has a nice light ruby hue with aromas of cherry and varnished leather. The wine has low tannins with flavors of cherry, a slight plum and stone flavors. Overall it’s pretty good with cherry being the dominant flavor.
