Bordeaux Wines
Description:
Bordeaux is a wine region in Western France which produces 10% of all French wine and 26% of all AOC wine. 73% of the wines produced in Bordeaux are dry red wines, 15% dry white wines and 2% sweet white wines such as Sauternes.
Bordeaux wines are well known for the ability to age them. When young, the finest Bordeaux wines have a deep cranberry hue with aromas of blackcurrants, plums, spice cedar and cassis. For the first 10-years they can be very dry with tannins masking the fruit flavors. Eventually these wines turn slightly garnet, develop an extraordinary complex bouquet and flavor, and soften in tannin.
