The Marsh Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015 is produced in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The wine begins with aromas of violets and black cassis followed by cinnamon stick essence. The wine bursts with deep, sweet, red cherry flavors and is followed by subtle floral notes and soft white peppercorn. The post palate has flavors of light black peppercorn and vanilla. This wine is rich and round, velvety and opulent.

About the Winery
ROCO winery is owned by Rollin Soles and his wife Corby Stonebraker-Soles. Rollin cofounded Argyle winery before he and his wife turned their attention to Wits’ End Vineyard in 2001. In 2003, they produced their first vintage of Private Stash Pinot Noir. In 2009, the Soles built ROCO its own winery and added the tasting room in 2012.

ROCO’s Pinot Noir 2015 has a strong fruity aroma that pops with cherry and rich vibrant fruits on the nose. The wine is soft on the tongue with cherry and a little dark strawberry. It’s a very smooth wine and it’s one of the better ones that I have had. Overall an excellent wine!

About the Winery
The Duboeuf family has been producing wine in the Mâconnais region of France for over 4-centuries. Georges Duboeuf created Les Vins Georges Duboeuf in 1964. It wasn’t until the 1980’s when they began to export their Beaujolais’ wine to North America, Australia and Japan. While Georges is currently managing the Vin Georges Duboeuf business, his son Franck has joined him.

Georges Duboeuf’s Beaujolais Nouveau 2019 has a purple plum hue. The wine has light berry fruit aromas. It is soft on the tongue with flavors of Bing cherry, strawberry and blackberry. The wine is slightly tart, is semi-dry, but doesn’t linger much in the palate. On the post palate I pick up hints of chocolate. For a young wine, it has quite a bit going on and overall it’s one of the better Beaujolais Nouveaus that I have had. This wine paired perfect with my smoked turkey on Thanksgiving day!

About the Winery
Beringer’s founder Jacob Beringer sailed from Mainz, Germany to New York in 1868. He would later head west and become the cellar foreman for Charles Krug in 1869. It wasn’t until 1875 when he and his brother Frederick would purchase 215 acres of land in the Napa Valley. In 1876 Beringer wines was born, with Jacob producing 18,000 cases of wine in their first year. In 1915 Jacob would pass away and his children Charles and Bertha would take over. Currently Mark Beringer is the Chief Winemaker (Jacob’s great, great grandson.)

Beringer Main and Vine Pinot Grigio has a very clear hue. I picked up clean notes of citrus on the nose. The wine has flavors of tart pineapple, a little lemon and a hint of peach. Overall it is a cheap white wine, and it tastes cheap. I would not want to buy this wine again.

Elqui winery is owned by Steffan Jorgensen and his wife Pamela Nunez. Steffan was previously was Head Winemaker at Bergevin Lane in Walla Walla, WA. Their current winery makes small lot varietal wines and blends from their 20 acre estate in Chile’s Elqui Valley.

Elqui’s red blend has a nice plum hue. The nose is very fruit forward with deep dark cherry aromas. The wine is a bit surprising, as I expected more fruit forward flavor, but it’s actually a bit acidic. I pick up notes of plum, it is nice and light but very acidic.

This Chilean wine has cherry and fruity aromas. The wine starts with a slight pepper but ends with a smooth finish. I pick up tastes of cherry in this red blend.

Da Vinci Pinot Grigio 2017 has aromas of cantaloupe and pineapple. I pick up flavors of melon with a hint of green apple. The wine is both sweet but has a slight hint of tartness.
