Riverbench Vineyard was established in 1973, when the first Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes were planted on the bank of the Sisquoc River, known as the Santa Maria Bench. In 2006, they began producing their own wines in limited quantities, which are available exclusively through their wine club and tasting rooms in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, California.

Norso Pinot Noir 2023 has a light cherry hue with aromas of black currant, cherry and cola. The wine is soft with a really sweet cherry flavor. I am talking like candy sweet…. really sweet….. overly sweet. It’s kind of a weird wine… it’s okay with some spice, cardamom and clove. Overall, it’s okay but really not my cup of tea… or glass of wine.

It has a light acidity, but is well balanced. Overall it’s a nice drinking wine that ends a little dry and herby. It’s really good with food and is a ‘bang for the buck wine!’

It is a little tart, and slightly dry, but overall, a very drinkable wine. They are great slightly chilled, and I always tend to enjoy the Beaujolais Nouveaus!
