German Wines-
Germany is the northernmost major wine producing country in Europe. The climate tends to be erratic, so vineyards tend to be situated by rivers like the Rhine and Mosel which tend to temper the extremes. Red grapes do not ripen adequately so the Germans excel in white wine production. There wines tend to be fruity in style, often off-dry or sweet, low in alcohol and rarely oaked.
