[…] Our Vegetarian Bibimbap recipe is a veggie packed dish that uses an egg for the protein. Bibimbap is essentially a Korean mixed rice dish that uses rice, vegetables, a sauce and a protein. This recipe is property of GreatChefRecipes.com Ingredients: 1 tablespoon Gochujang 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil 2 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon water 2 cups short-grain white rice, rinsed 2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar, divided 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt 2 carrots, shaved with a peeler 1/2 cup plain sesame oil, divided 1 lb. assorted wild mushrooms, stemmed and sliced 5 oz. baby spinach 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 4 large eggs 2 tablespoons kimchi 1 cup mung bean sprouts 4 radishes, thinly sliced 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, black and white Directions: 1. In a small bowl, stir together gochujang, toasted sesame oil, soy sauce and 1 tablespoon water; set aside. 2. Cook rice according to packages instructions. 3. When rice is cooked, fluff with a fork and fold in 1 tablespoon rice vinegar and salt; set aside. 4. In a bowl, combine shaved carrots and 1-tablespoon rice vinegar; set aside. 5. Heat 1/4 cup plain sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high. 6. Add mushrooms in a single layer and cook until well browned and caramelized (10-minutes); set aside on a plate. 7. Add 1 tablespoon plain sesame oil and spinach and cook until wilted (3-5 minutes); set aside on a plate. 8. Add remaining 3 tablespoons plain sesame oil and heat on high. 9. Add cooked rice and use the back of a spatula to firmly press into the pan. 10. Cook for 5-minutes, then flip rice and cook for 5-minutes more. 11. Heat vegetable oil in a medium skillet on medium and fry eggs to desired doneness (3-4 minutes for slightly runny yolks.) 12. Divide rice into bowls. 13. Top with mushrooms, spinach, carrots, kimchi, bean sprouts, radishes. 14. Drizzle with gochujang sauce and top with fried eggs and sesame seeds. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner. Sauvignon Blanc This Vegetarian Bibimbap recipe, has light flavors that would mesh well with a cool crisp white wine. I would choose a light white wine, such as a Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc wines are not over-oaked and they have a nice crisp element.
[…] This Country Roasted Chicken recipe is an oven roasted chicken recipe. It does require a Dutch oven, and around 1.5 hours of your time. This recipe is property of GreatChefRecipes.com Ingredients: 1 whole chicken (around 3 lbs.) 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 2 teaspoons salt 1/2 large onion (cut into fourths) 2 celery ribs (cut into 4-inch pieces) 8 flat leaf parsley sprigs Olive oil 1/4 cup chicken broth Freshly ground black pepper Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375F. 2. Sprinkle the chicken cavity with the thyme and 1 teaspoon of salt. 3. Stuff chicken cavity with onion, celery and 4 parsley sprigs. 4. Grease the Dutch oven with olive oil. 5. Cover and bake for 30-minutes. 6. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt over chicken. 7. Bake, uncovered for 25-minutes. 8. Increase temperature to 400F and bake for 10-15 minutes. If your chicken is 3.5+ pounds, go with the higher cooking time. 9. Remove Dutch oven and tent loosely with foil for 15-minutes. 10. Sprinkle chicken with pepper and the chopped parsley. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner.
[…] Our Chicken Pot Pie recipe might not be the prettiest dish, but it is a nice warm feel good recipe! This dish brings back memories of my childhood and it is dangerously good. Ingredients: 1 box frozen pie crust (2-crusts) 1 egg, whisked for wash 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/3 cup butter 1/3 cup chopped onion 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup milk 1 cup sliced cremini mushrooms 1/2 cup chopped carrots 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed 1 3/4 cups chicken broth 2.5 cups cooked and shredded chicken 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper Leaves from 3 sprigs of fresh thyme Leaves from 1 sprig of rosemary, rough chopped 1/4 cup fresh parsley, rough chopped Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 425F. 2. In a sauté pan, heat oil over medium heat. 3. When oil shimmers, add onion and sauté until translucent. 4. Add carrots and cook for around 5-minutes. Carrots should be firm, but tender. 5. Add mushrooms, rosemary and thyme and cook for 8-minutes. 6. Once done, turn off heat. 7. In a separate medium pot, melt butter over medium heat. 8. Add flour to create a roux. 9. Add salt and pepper, stir in milk and broth. Stir until it bubbles and thickens. 10. Stir in chicken, carrots and mushroom mixture, thawed peas and parsley. 11. Remove from heat and add mixture to the bottom of your crust. 12. Using the remaining frozen bottom crust, carefully remove it from its tin and place it on top of your filled pot pie. 13. Crimp the top and bottom edges and vent with a few holes by slicing with a knife or using a fork. 14. Beat egg to create the wash and glaze the top of the pot pie. 15. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Cover the pie with aluminum foil during the last 15-20 minutes to prevent burning the edges. 16. Let it rest for at least 5-minutes before serving. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste.
[…] Our mint chicken recipe is an easy recipe to make that has wonderful Mediterranean flavors. We would recommend serving this dish with Basmati Rice, Pita bread and hummus. If you would like to try our hummus recipe, follow the link. Hummus (Get the recipe here) Ingredients: 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup butter 4 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 lemon, juiced 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint leaves Directions: 1. In a large bowl, mix together the chicken and garlic. 2. Toss with flour to coat, shaking off excess. 3. In a large skillet over medium-high, heat butter and olive oil. 4. Add chicken and stir until browned. 5. Add mint leaves, lemon juice, cover and simmer for 5-minutes. 6. Serve over cooked rice. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner. Sauvignon Blanc This Mint Chicken recipe, produces tender chicken that is flavored in a buttery sauce with sweet mint and lemon flavors. Given the creaminess of the dish, I would pair it with a Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blancs have a nice minerality and a creamy texture which compliments the dish, without overpowering it. In a food processor combine the jalapeno, honey, cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and blend until smooth. 4. Add the eater and blend until a consistent texture is achieved. 5. Transfer to a large serving bowl and put heated chicken and sauce over noodles. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner. Sauvignon Blanc This Honey Jalapeno Chicken Soba Noodles recipe produces a chicken that is both sweet with a hint of sauce. The honey in the dish gives it a nice creaminess. Sauvignon Blancs have a nice minerality and a creamy texture which compliments the dish.
[…] This Pan Seared Turkey Cutlets with Mustard Wine Sauce recipe is an easy and quick dish to make. The turkey drippings are reduced with white wine, and combined with mustard and parsley for a delicious topping! Ingredients: 2 pounds thin sliced turkey cutlets Kosher salt Ground black pepper 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 cups dry white wine 1/4 cup Dijon mustard 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley Directions: 1. Season the turkey cutlets with salt and pepper. 2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over high heat. 3. Working in batches, cook the cutlets until they are browned and opaque (2-3 minutes per side). 4. Once done, transfer to a plate and repeat the process with any remaining cutlets. 5. Once all cutlets are done, tent the plate with aluminum foil. 6. Reduce heat and deglaze the pan with the white wine- using a wooden spatula to scrape up any browned bits. 7. Once the browned bits are scraped up, turn up the heat to high and bring to a boil. 8. Cook the wine down until its reduced to 1/2 cup (6-minutes). 9. Turn to low and whisk in the Dijon. 10. Remove from heat and stir in the parsley with any additional salt and pepper. 11. Top turkey cutlets with the mustard wine sauce and serve. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner. Sauvignon Blanc This Pan Seared Turkey Cutlets with Mustard Wine Sauce recipe produces a mild flavored cutlet topped with a mustard wine sauce that really pops! To tame down the mustard sauce I choose a Sauvignon Blanc, since it has more minerality and a creamy texture which pairs well with this dish. Whisk oil, lemon juice, harissa, honey and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small bowl to combine. 8. Using a paring knife make several slits down the length of the eggplant on each side. 9. Transfer eggplant to a plate or dish and pour dressing over the top. 19. Top with parsley and serve. Wine Pairings: We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner. Sauvignon Blanc This Grilled Eggplant with Harissa Vinaigrette recipe picks up a nice flavor from the grill. The eggplant tastes smoky, and that combined with the sweet and spicy harissa vinaigrette produces wonderful flavor. With such a nice balance of flavors, a Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect accompaniment. Sauvignon blanc wines generally have fruit flavors that can be described as gooseberry, honeydew melon, grapefruit, white peach and passion fruit; and are light in oakiness.
